Our personal information

In the eleventh class of our Absolute Beginner Spanish course we are going to learn how to give and ask for personal information. For this, we need to learn some sentences with some specific vocabulary and conjugated verbs!

Basic vocabulary

Let’s start with some basic vocabulary about personal information:

EspañolEnglish

Asking and answering

Unless we are just filling in some form, the exchange of information will take place within some kind of dialog where one person asks and the other person answers.

Here are some examples.

—¿Cómo te llamas?
—(Me llamo) Paco.

—¿Cuál es tu nombre?
—(Mi nombre es) Francisco.
—¿Y tu apellido?

—¿Estudias o trabajas?
—Estoy en la universidad.

—¿A qué te dedicas? / ¿En qué trabajas? / ¿Cuál es tu profesión?
—Soy profesor / Trabajo de profesor.

—¿Qué estudias?
—(Estudio) Filología Hispánica.

As some kind of tiny homework, you could go through the examples pretending someone is asking you. Try to write and pronounce all your personal information as answers to the questions!

Of course, there are many other questions and answers, but these will do for now.
